Brick Tie Wire
Following the 1989 earthquake in Newcastle NSW, when many brick wall structures sustained extensive damage, it became apparent that there was a need to improve the performance of wall cavity ties. AS/NZS 2699:2000 – In-built Components for Masonry Construction now requires a galvanised coating of 470g/m2 minimum and a distinctive red colour for corrosion classifications from R3 3 through to R04 covered by this Standard.
