Rod Bar and Wire
The Rod Bar and Wire business, part of Liberty's Manufacturing and Integration division, trades as Liberty Steel and is Australia’s only manufacturer of rod bar and wire products for application in the construction, rural and manufacturing industries in Australia.
The business has five manufacturing facilities across Australia, employing approximately 1300 people. It is Australia’s market leader in the domestic supply of rod, reinforcing bar and wire products for construction applications, merchant bar for general applications, fencing for rural applications, and speciality bar and wire for manufacturing applications.
The Rod Bar and Wire business produces its own steel and billets through Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking at its facilities in Melbourne and Sydney and it also sources billet from Liberty Primary Steel's Whyalla Steelworks in South Australia. The business operates across five manufacturing locations:
