MBT Couplers support the bars within the coupler on two serrated saddles. Bars are locked in place by a series of special lockshear bolts, the heads of which shear off when the predetermined tightening torque is reached, providing a visual check of correct installation. Typically used for column splicing, bridge applications, piling, beams and closure pours, MBT couplers are available in sizes to suit 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 26 and 40 mm bar sizes.
