 Liberty Recycling

Building sustainability with customers through the safe and effective environmental management of metal recycling.

Liberty Recycling specialises in the safe handling, collection, processing and distribution for sale of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals to international markets as well as our company owned, Australian-based domestic steel mills and manufacturing facilities in Whyalla SA, Laverton Vic, Sydney and Newcastle, NSW.

Liberty Recycling has more than 500 dedicated employees and handles in excess of 1.2 million tonnes of ferrous scrap and 0.25 million tonnes of nonferrous scrap per annum. The business operates from 22 locations in Australia and three in Asia, as well as from six Trading Offices in key supply and sales market regions across the globe.

Liberty Recycling is a AQSIQ approved and licenced exporter to China and is focused on consistently meeting customer requirements and enhancing their satisfaction by maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) which is certified against the ISO 9001:2008 standard. Environmental best practice is achieved and managed through systems and processes based on the international ISO: 14000 Standards.

Our services include fit-for-purpose Scrap Metal Bins for placement and collection and large volume site clean-ups including rural locations deploying mobile excavators and shears, bailers, car compactors and oxy-cutting with appropriately site inducted, safety trained and licenced personnel.

Liberty Recycling caters for all business types from multi-national companies to trades people and the general public. Our branch layouts segregate heavy trucks from smaller vehicles allowing anyone to deliver material to us from 1 kilogram to 100 metric tonne, and do so in a safe and friendly environment.

We source scrap metal from industry sectors such as scrap metal dealers, mining, power and energy, government and council, waste management, automotive dismantlers, building and construction, large and small industrial businesses.

Liberty Recycling prioritises the onsite and offsite safety of its employees, customers and service providers through engagement, training and the application of the highest industry standards and procedures. Through the creation and use of numerous safety tools such as Take 5’s, Site Hazard Identification, Job Safety Analysis, Safe Operating Procedures and Load Restraint Guidelines, we both identify and manage risk before any new bin placement or commencement of work.

Liberty Recycling recognises the importance of customers to its long term sustainable future. We focus on understanding our customers’ requirements and needs, to then ensure the necessary resources and people assets are in place to support our service solutions and value propositions.
